Vestibular Disorders

Vestibular disorders are common and disabling with effective interventions for most conditions. The session covers BPPV diagnosis and Epley/Semont maneuvers, vestibular migraine (the most common cause of recurrent vertigo), Meniere's disease management (low-salt diet, diuretics, intratympanic gentamicin, intratympanic steroids, endolymphatic sac surgery), vestibular neuritis (vestibular sedatives initially then vestibular rehabilitation), persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD), and vestibular rehabilitation protocols. Discussion addresses superior canal dehiscence, bilateral vestibulopathy, vestibular schwannoma management (observation, radiosurgery, microsurgery), pediatric dizziness, post-COVID vestibular dysfunction, and emerging telemedicine vestibular assessment platforms.
