Neuropathic Pain
Neuropathic pain affects diverse populations with significant unmet need despite multiple available therapies. The session covers diabetic peripheral neuropathy and the new sodium-channel blockers (NaV1.8 inhibitor suzetrigine, NaV1.7 vixotrigine), post-herpetic neuralgia, trigeminal neuralgia management including microvascular decompression and gamma knife, gabapentinoid deprescribing and harm-reduction, spinal cord stimulation evidence in painful diabetic neuropathy, and emerging targets including TRPV1 and angiotensin-II receptors. Discussion addresses the chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy frontier, neuropathic pain in cancer survivors, the role of cannabinoids, ketamine infusions, and the integration of pain rehabilitation with pharmacotherapy.
