Frontotemporal Dementia
FTD management is advancing with progranulin-replacement therapy and emerging tau-targeted approaches. The session covers latozinemab (AL001) and the INFRONT-3 phase 3 trial, AL001 progranulin replacement mechanism, MAPT-targeted therapies in development, FTD-ALS spectrum and C9orf72 expansion, behavioural variant FTD (bvFTD) and primary progressive aphasia (PPA) subtypes, and the diagnostic criteria challenges. Discussion addresses NfL and other CSF biomarkers, FTD imaging biomarkers (FDG-PET, tau-PET), pre-symptomatic identification in familial FTD, caregiver burden in bvFTD specifically, the comparison with Alzheimer's disease management, and ALSFTD spectrum and the C9orf72 ASO programmes (BIIB078 lessons and newer-generation candidates).
